About Jake Kocovsky

University of North Dakota Sport Resident 2023-2024; Traveling physical Therapist; graduated from Misericordia University in 2020 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Dry Needling Level 1 Certified. Barbell Strength Coach Certified. My main approach to treatment is to emphasisize a well refined interdisciplinary, individual and team focused approach to enhance the athletes total rehabilitation, peak readiness, and return to sport status. Following my career as a traveling Physical Therapist, I work for the University of North Dakota as their 2023-2024 Sports PT Resident working with Division one athletics. Here I was able to further develop my skill base and knowledge treating acute, sub-acute and long-term injuries involving a variety of sports including: Football, Soccer, Hockey, Track and Field, Basketball, and Volleyball. I gained experience and responsibility with managing a full caseload, maintaining communication with surgeons, MD's, athletic training staff, Physical Therapists, and coaching staff on the status of the athletes condition. Here I wanted to become more proficient in regards to developing and treating athletic injuries while improving the transfer from rehabilitation to return to sport Following graduation in 2020, I became a traveling Physical Therapist and worked a total of 5 contracts across various parts of the United States. I had the opportunity to learn from multiple clinicians and work alongside various disciplines in developing my rehabilitation strategies while also creating a better understanding on return to sport protocols and the application of exercises, testing, modalities, and bringing in other disciplines when necessary. I worked as a EMR at multiple athletic events while developing my own rehabilitation company that focused not only treating athletes post-injury, but also developing strength and development programs that allowed them to become advanced off the field
