About James Davies

A specialist in divorce and family law since qualification in 2002, I have been a recommended family lawyer in the Legal 500 since 2013. Their entries variously describe me as "a real fighter who squeezes the best result from any situation" and suggest that I "combine encyclopaedic knowledge of the law with real tenacity." In the 2020 edition it was reported that "James Davies is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough." The 2017 edition of Chambers and Partners also remarks:"He is reported to be 'a very good lawyer' by one source, who goes on:'He knows the law inside out. You won't slip anything past him.'" I am also accredited as a specialist family lawyer by Resolution (the leading family lawyers' organisation) in the fields of cohabitation and high value divorce cases. I am currently the only solicitor in Oxford to hold the accreditation in cohabitation, and my colleague Catherine Morgan and I are the only solicitors in Oxford to hold the accreditation in high value divorces. I have held both accreditations since 2011. Specialties: Medium to high value divorce cases including those consisting of limited companies and trusts. Cohabitation disputes and children cases, particularly those of a complex nature.
