About James Schultze

I have recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a dual degree with a BS in Biology a BS in Environmental Science, and a certificate in Marine Sciences. I held an undergraduate position in the Jordaan lab, assisting with research into how climate change may affect river herring physiology. I also worked as a tour guide for the Undergraduate Admissions office. I am interested in both field and lab research, investigating key threats facing today's marine ecosystems, as well as finding solutions to conservation challenges. Through seasonal work with the US Forest Service in the Tongass National Forest, past lab experiences, extensive field work, and an independent research project on sex determination in Atlantic silverside, I have cultivated an appreciation and interest in a hands on approach to understanding marine ecology and biodiversity.
