About Jan Skyba

I have education in marketing & business which gave me a very good base for influencing the market and successful implementation of business activities. Essence of program was primarily built on the knowledge of marketing management and marketing applications (international marketing, product management, business marketing, digital marketing) and business skills (purchasing management, business strategies, foreign trade operations). My first job after university was at Korean company Sungwoo Hitech. This oportunity introduced me to a unique automotive industry. I have learnt lots of useful skills of purchase and procurement and strong basics related to that profession. Especially I have mastered my Microsoft Excel skills, learned how to lead and supervise people and how to plan and procure just in time. This experience helped me to learn how to work effectively in very stressful environment and how to overcome daily obstacles and find improvements every day. Soon I have returned back to automotive to company Varroc Lighting Systems as part of logistics team (Material Clerk). I have deepened my skills as a negotiator, mastered daily tasks and tools in a focus to keep prduction ongoing with sufficient material from all dedicated suppliers all over the world with main objective to build and deliver car lamps to customers such as VW, JLR & Stellantis. The challanges of COVID consequences, semi-conductor issues and actaul state of VLS made me stronger, better and significantly boosted my expertise in automotive logistics. One and a half year later I was given oportunity to lead our amazing team of 5 material clerks in Rychvald plant. This means responsibility for on time deliveries of around 6 components and raw materials from about 200 suppliers all over the world. All this with given task to secure production of car lights for our customers and keep healthy inventory level. October 2022 brought an exciting change and a new greater vision of Plastic Omnium Lighting aquiring VLS. Here I was daily facing new challanges this unique and addictive industry has to offer as a Leader of MaterialDisposition & Freight. Further oportunity with a new exciting challange in TATRA TRUCKS Kopřivnice where I took a new role as a Material Disposition Manager.
