Lead trade Union official in negotiating and consulting with the Council on terms and conditions, restructures and individual casework, working with Councilors and Senior Officers of the Council to achieve successful outcomes for Unison’s Members both collectively and individually.(Currently with the largest membership of 40% of the workforce) Successfully Reduced overspend of the branch and increased the overall income from £18’k to £168’k over a two-year period. Proactively partnered with companies and nonprofit organizations for beneficial solutions in areas of performance management and creating and implementing new process and procedures in line with business needs. Offer guidance to management to ensure alignment with employment standards. Make recommendations on employment practices and policies and procedures. Ensuring national UNISON campaigns are raised with the Council and other employers to seek their support. Specifically, along with other trade unions I meet with the Council’s Deputy Leader and Chief Executive on a quarterly basis to achieve the above. Interpret contract guidelines and company policies for clarification. A Member of the Greater London Employment forum (GLEF) addressing all matters of the constitutional arrangements between local authorities and UNIONS including Job evaluations… Considerable experience of dealing with complex issues for trade unions members at local and national level. Sit on various joint consultative committees, increasing better outcomes for all members.
