About Jared Murphy

When I was a younger human, I was always fascinated with how things worked. Specifically, I was intrigued with how buildings were constructed, and my desire to design buildings was ignited. When I found out 'art' was needed to become an architect, my hope wavered. However, it was short-lived and I soon found my calling of becoming a civil engineer. Fast forward a few years, I graduated Civil Engineering (honours) with an option in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo. Entering the work force with a couple years experience in construction management and building science related project work, as well as leadership experience from a student team, I was hired as an Engineering Intern at Read Jones Christoffersen, which blended my passions to continue building design and manage projects. Since being hired, I have grown my project management portfolio through undertaking contract administration for various projects over the years. My efficiency in the office and comfort on site made me a great fit for this role, as I continued to develop technical knowledge and construction industry skills. Outside of RJC, you will find me on some sort of outdoors adventure or helping someone from the community. I am involved in leadership capacity at my church where I volunteer with the serve team and as a manager for smaller design projects within our facility.
