About Jarl Krausing

My personal mission is to make a true difference in our urgent transition towards a climate positive and resilient future. One that enables a thriving society within planetary boundaries. Key to this mission is my commitment to help identify and nurture more informed decisionmaking in politics, business and finance in the nexus between the three dimensions of sustainable development. We have so far failed in sufficiently addressing climate, nature, and environment related externalities in our economy - and that recognition drives my ambition to help correct that fundamental failure in our sustainable development pathway locally and globally. My entry into a career in climate, and sustainable development grew out of a deep compassion for biodiversity and nature. Exposure to African refugee hosting communities’ vulnerability to unsustainably managed natural resources, carried me into the sustainable development and climate agenda, which was further and substantially enriched through my engagement in global env. governance and SDG negotiations for the ministry and staff positions at the UN, the World Bank and currently at CONCITO. I am a former environment and climate negotiator with the Danish Government, and formerly with several UN agencies (UNHCR, UNEP/OCHA) and the World Bank in areas of environment, biodiversity, sustainable development and climate change / climate finance. I coordinated for 7 years the World Bank engagement at the climate negotiations, and represented the World Bank at various green growth fora, including the Green Climate Fund. Having also served as a Special Advisor to several Danish Ministers for climate and environment, including Connie Hedegaard. I negotiated the SDGs on behalf of the Danish Ministry for Environment before assuming current position as Deputy CEO and International Director at CONCITO. I am skilled in global environmental governance, sustainable development policy, climate change, climate finance, green growth, adaptation and resilience, migration, corporate social responsibility, biodiversity, and climate fund board work.
