About Jason D Morgan
I have lived in Kumamoto, Japan since 2006 and have spent the last decade working in translation and interpreting in and around the Kumamoto area. I started Adastra with my business partner Mikico Tashima in 2014 to offer better multilingual translation services to larger clients. Since around 2017, we have expanded our services to include inbound tourism support and localization. Due to the need for quality translation and inbound support services throughout Kyushu, we are beginning to expand outside of Kumamoto and are actively pursuing opportunities in the other prefectures of Kyushu. Along with three friends, I started Shirakawa Banks in 2021 as a machizukuri (community-building) company to help develop and revitalize the downtown riverside areas of the Shirakawa River. Our Shirakawa Night Market started in 2018 and is held monthly and draws thousands of visitors. We also started Camp Shirakawa (a monthly riverside campground) and Shirakawa BBQ (riverside grilling spaces) in 2022 and intend to increase our activities in the future.
