About Javier L.

Experienced Team Leader, Innovator, Project Manager, Engineer, Researcher and Professor with a demonstrated history of working with and managing multicultural teams in the aviation and aerospace industry. Education: MSc. Aerospace Engineering (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), PhD. Aerospace Engineering (University of Glasgow), Project Management (Stanford University), Airline Management (IATA) and diverse certificates from Boeing and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I joined Boeing in 2005 during my PhD. Since then, I have participated and managed multitude of projects covering different areas such as aircraft performance, trajectory modelling, simulation, avionics, air traffic management, UASs, future mobility, fuel efficiency, airline services, safety, data analytics and ML/AI algorithms applied to aviation. I was Associate professor at the University Carlos of Madrid between 2015 and 2018, before moving to Beijing in 2019 to build and lead a team of researchers at Boeing Research and Technology China. Strong technical background, being author (at the moment) of more than 20 patents and 30 papers (journal and conferences) in the aforementioned areas. Selected Technical Fellow at Boeing in 2023, Fellow of Royal Aeronautical Society in 2022. Passionate about technology, innovation, swimming and BBQs
