About Jay Ferguson

Jay P. Ferguson is Chief Legal Officer of Randstad North America, a leading human resources and staffing firm, and oversees its U.S. and Canadian legal strategy and affairs. He is also a member of the company's North American Executive Committee and several other oversight committees of the company (such as its committees governing retirement benefits and data privacy/information security and its Executive Diversity Council). Prior to his current role, Jay was U.S. General Counsel of Randstad General Staffing and coordinated legal strategy for Randstad’s general staffing division across the United States. Previously, Jay served as outside counsel to Randstad and other clients as an attorney at Duane Morris LLP and Troutman Pepper LLP (formerly Troutman Sanders). Jay serves as a resourceful and proactive partner with Randstad’s finance, human resources, risk management, audit and compliance teams to further its strategic mission. As Chief Legal Officer, his main objectives are to protect and preserve the company’s integrity and corporate reputation by anticipating and evaluating risks and potential liabilities and developing innovative, pragmatic solutions. In support of these goals, Jay encourages a collaborative culture among his team for higher rates of employee performance, engagement and retention. In 2014, Jay was awarded best General Counsel in the large company category, for outstanding legal work and contribution to the company’s bottom line, in the Corporate Counsel Awards, sponsored by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Association of Corporate Counsel, Georgia chapter.
