As a Line Producer/Production Manager with 20 plus years in television, i've learned a thing or two. I've worked on a few hours -) of television for major cable and online networks, including; TruTV, Yahoo, Animal Planet, History Channel, Spike TV (now Paramount), Discovery, TLC, HGTV, PBS, Lifetime, Nat Geo, POP, Oxygen, REELZ, Apple TV, and Netflix. As a LP and PM my core responsibilities are staying within budget and making sure production operates efficiently. I've spent many years building strong relationships with vendors and production crew. Relationships are key when it comes to managing a production and my 'MO' is to always take care of others and they will, in turn, take care of you. So cliche but true! I've spent my career cutting costs but never at the expense of others who wouldn't do the job or provide the service without complete understanding of the budget, that's not how you build relationships. My one belief is "Make it FUN". We work in a stressful industry where decisions often are made at the last minute so we may need to make a hard right to keep production moving. Anticipate this on every project and approach it with a can-do attitude.
