About Jeffrey Kacala

Carl Sagan said “The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena.” Quotes like these and watching space shuttle launches as a young child piqued my interest in space and I feel fortunate every day that my career in the Army led me to be able to add value in space programs has been a dream fulfilled. As I prepare to start a new chapter in my professional career outside of the military, I am looking to leverage my experience – on both the customer and contractor side – into new levels of success. Although I am closing my Army career in space and satellite programs, it began in the Signals career field due to my degree in electrical engineering. As I moved up in my Army career and began to take on leadership roles, I found the transition into space and satellite programs to be a natural fit. I went on to pursue graduate degrees in IT and space operations and began to take on greater leadership roles in program management, contract administration and program planning. My engineering education pairs well with my passion for being involved with cutting-edge technology. Though I am technology-focused, I also am a very effective communicator and can interact with developers, engineers, stakeholders and leaders with varying degrees of technical expertise to be able to bridge the communication gap. I excel at assessing needs and objectives, creating targeted presentations and building and maintaining internal and external relationships. Upon completion of my service commitment in July 2018, I will be permanently relocating to Denver, Colorado to pursue the next phase of my career.
