About Jennifer Sapone

I acquired $12 million in grant funds for recreation programs in the City of Los Angeles over the last six years of grant writing and management as a Senior Management Analyst I for the Department of Recreation and Parks. During my 30-year career with the City of Los Angeles, I have managed multiple grants and contracts, presented reports in public meetings, aided in the preparation and monitoring of an $85 million annual resurfacing program, managed the $4.6 million Street Furniture Revenue Fund for 15 Council Offices, and supervised administrative staff. My favorite assignment was when I was a travel coordinator planning trips and assisting with employee travel arrangements. I have been the liaison with other City departments, Council Offices, and the State of California and was the department’s representative at community and Council outreach events. I interact regularly with staff from the Mayor's Office, Council Offices, City Administrative Officer's Office, the Los Angeles Parks Foundation, and other non-profit organizations. In my spare time, I volunteer as the Chief Financial Officer and Event Planner for the Southern California Super Street Association, a 501(c)7 not-for-profit NHRA drag racing club. Over the last 12 years with this club, I gained experience with cash handling, bookkeeping, marketing on social media, and planning an annual awards banquet. I enjoy traveling, wine tasting, my cats, Disney, and spending time with family and friends. Some of my favorite cities I have traveled to include Seattle, Washington D.C, New York City, Philadelphia, Virginia Beach, Baltimore, Cocoa Beach, Key West, Vancouver, and Victoria.
