About Jerry Wojtowicz

Jerry Wojtowicz Senior Director, Hardware Engineering Jerry Wojtowicz has nearly 30 years of experience in developing complex hardware solutions for Telecom applications, including over 20 years in PON technologies at speeds anywhere from 1G to 25G. Mr. Wojtowicz co-founded Tibit Communications, Inc. in 2014 and led hardware development of the first in the world pluggable 10G PON SFP+ OLT (MicroPlug). Latest efforts resulted in designing first industrial temperature (I-Temp) OLT MicroPlug for outdoor applications. Working together with Operations department developed MicroPlug manufacturing and calibrations methodologies and implemented them at various off-shore CMs. Eight years of efforts working to develop OLT MicroPlug at Tibit led to the market acceptance of the pluggable OLT by major US, and European Telco and Cable operators, generating major revenue stream for Tibit. Tibit Communications was acquired by Ciena in January 2023. Prior to Tibit Communications Mr. Wojtowicz held position of a Technical Director at Broadcom Corporation. He was in charge of all EPON-related hardware development and chips characterization before leaving to become a Co-founder of Tibit Communications, Inc. In 2002 Mr. Wojtowicz helped to start Teknovus, Inc. forming its hardware engineering department and managing it for 8 subsequent years. Teknovus, Inc. was acquired by Broadcom Corporation in March 2010. Prior to Teknovus, Mr. Wojtowicz held various senior engineering positions at Terawave Communications, Skystream Networks, Lockheed Martin and Nortel, in US and Canada. Areas of expertise include: optical PON transceivers design, optical transceivers calibration techniques, thermal simulations, mechanical design, chip package design, and high speed electrical design techniques. Mr. Wojtowicz holds multiple patents related to PON technologies. He has a B.S. degree from University of Manitoba, Canada.
