About Jerwin Gutierrez

23 years post-graduate experience (12 years in the UAE, 4.5 years in Qatar) working in construction supervision, consulting, and programme management). Expertise in administering design-build contracts from multi-storey buildings, infrastructure and enabling works that includes roads and highways to major underground works (i.e, TBM bored deep tunneling works and series of micro tunneled pipelines and link sewers). Completed 8 years in STEP (Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme) Abu Dhabi known as the first successful deep tunnelling programme in the GCC. Between 2017 to 2021, I joined the Doha South Sewage Infrastructure Project (DSSIP) or otherwise referred as the IDRIS Programme in Qatar (Inner Doha Resewerage Implementation Strategy) from implementation to handover process. I was then seconded to Qatar's Public Works Authority (PWA) or Ashghal in preparing tender documents and evaluating tenderers to administering construction stages of Wakra-Wukair Drainage Network Branches (DNB) under Ashghal's Drainage Networks Projects Department (DNPD). After parting ways with Ashghal, I have taken my experience as Jacobs' secondment to help Watercare (New Zealand's water authority) to administer and supervise the construction of a super-sized deep tunnel sewer to ease up sewage overflows in the city of Auckland. In partnership with the main contractor's Joint Venture of Ghella and Abergeldie, the programme is referred as the Central Interceptor where I lead a team of tunnel engineers to deliver this programme to completion.
