Background
About Jess Ramesch
INTERNATIONAL LIVING BIO No stranger to “international living,” Jess Ramesch has lived on the Indian subcontinent and floated all around the Caribbean (and some snazzy parts of Europe, too). Her first job was delivering newspapers in the cold Oregonian winter. After that, she tried her hand at just about everything she could think of. She’s sailed the open seas, appeared on TV, and learned a few languages along the way. Her favorite on-camera experiences include judging a Top Chef Indian curry competition with chère amie and superstar chef Edna Cochez and donning a hardhat to explore the great big culverts of the Panama Canal. Jess’ next adventure took her to Miami, where she hopped aboard a Bermuda-bound ship. Four years and 25 countries later, she escaped to Panama. Jess is a University of Richmond alum, an author and public speaker, and a resident of Coronado Beach. Though home is where the heart is, travel is her first love. She is constantly on the road, in the air, and on the water—exploring Panama and the wide world beyond. Jess Ramesch hosted and produced IL bestseller Panama 101. She is the author of Escape to Panama. ABOUT ME I enjoy writing from a "Desi" multi-cultural POV. As an Asian woman and American POC, I've been shaped in equal measure by my formative school years in the States and my upbringing by refugee/immigrant parents from pre-partition India. As a well-traveled Westerner and a polyglot with Sindhi and Punjabi roots, I bring deep cultural perspective and sophisticated global insight to every project. I've spent a great deal of time exploring the world, writing about food, drink, and dining experiences from a lazy vegetarian's perspective. As a wordsmith I enjoy studying languages and etymology. ADDITIONAL INFO: FICTION I enjoy writing fantasy fiction. Find some of my early competitive flash fiction stories at: WritingInWanderland Writinginwanderland.blogspot.com. LINKEDIN I do not necessarily agree with or endorse any groups,"interests," or contacts displayed by LinkedIn on my profile page. MOVING TO PANAMA If you are planning a trip or move to Panama, or have questions about travel or life in Panama, please visit For information about International Living publications or seminars, see INTERNATIONAL LIVING Please send messages to IL Customer Service via the International Living website. Kindly note I do not check LinkedIn for IL subscriber requests.
