Background

About Jesse S. Watson

I am a community builder and dedicated change management leader committed to cultivating institutional cultures rooted in respect, grace, and joy. As an advocate of educational pathways, I leverage over 20 years of service-oriented leadership, military and civilian, to expand access, equity, and belonging in education and beyond. My experiences bridges cultural knowledge and organizational transformation, helping enterprise stakeholders recognize shared values and navigate divergent perspectives. I believe sustainable change happens when initiatives evolve beyond individual champions and become embedded in institutional practice. Drawing from my experience as an administrator-scholar, I champion systemic thinking, encourage identity exploration, and spotlight how barriers impact individuals differently based on positionality. As a U.S. Navy veteran, I bring discipline, empathy, and purpose to every setting. I am energized by mentoring, coaching, and supporting the growth of emerging leaders, colleagues, and community partners. I proudly serve the Rogue Valley through active engagement on local, county, and state committees, while also contributing internally to college-wide initiatives focused on equity, access, and student success.
