About Jesse West

I'm an Art Director, and a positive and empathetic team leader with more than 18 years' experience in mobile game development, from a small team to one of the largest studios in Australia. I've enjoyed contributing to many aspects of game development from user interface, vehicles, environments, lighting, animation, game design, project planning, tools and workflow development, external development, team leadership and art direction. If there's something to try I'll put my hand up. I am proud to have been a part of a team at the cutting of mobile game development, from Flight Control, Real Racing, Need for Speed, The Sims, EA Sports titles and Madden NFL. I've worked on more than a dozen released titles across a range of devices and visual styles including early mobile pixel art & 2D, GBA, Nintendo DS, iPod, to benchmark 3D on the latest iPhone and Android handsets. I'm an empathetic leader who strives to support artists in their growth and development for both individual and team success. I've helped to shape a positive and motivated studio culture. Delivered on studio goals, team development and career growth, onboarding for artists and team training locally and internationally at studios in Vietnam and India. I like a challenge, I love to learn and get so much enjoyment from helping others to achieve their best. I do believe "teamwork makes the dream work" and in game dev, we're nothing without the team around us.
