About Jim Dickie

An experienced Leader who has undertaken a range of command, leadership, management, and training roles in support of multidisciplinary teams. I am currently the corporate resilience lead for Stirling Council and have worked in this role since July 2020. A key part of the role is to provide subject matter expertise to the Chief Executive and wider Senior Leadership Team on resilience best practice and advice on organisational preparedness. The post involves leading a small team of resilience professionals and includes collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners. In addition, regular communication and engagement takes place with local Elected Members including MSPs and MPs. I have significant Health Service clinical, senior, middle, and frontline leadership experience spanning 28 years as an Ambulance Service professional. This experience includes frontline duties as an Operational Paramedic, with practice of working overseas in South Africa and Kuwait. I have wide ranging experience as a Commander at a number of major incidents, events and significant experience in strategic and operations planning including organisational change programs, large scale national events and the design & delivery of a range of specialist training and exercising products. As a serving Reserve Officer I volunteered to be deployed on Operation RESCRIPT, the UK Armed Forces response to the COVID19 Pandemic, in April 2020 and worked as a Military Liaison Officer and Planner with the National Health Service in Scotland. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, hill walking, going to the gym, running, and skiing.
