About Jim Holder

I have training and experience in dealing with school safety and workplace violence issues. I served as a Terrorism Liaison Officer (TLO) and as the TLO Coordinator. I completed training at New Mexico Tech on Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings, as well as multiple trainings on threat assessment and active shooter prevention. Serving as the Supervisor for the Youth Services Unit, I worked directly with school district employees, school administrators, and school resource officers to ensure a safe environment at the schools. This included providing training to teachers and other school personnel on response to intruders and active shooter incidents, as well as performing threat assessments. My experience in dealing with complicated scenarios involving collision reconstruction translates into multiple other areas. I served as a training officer, corporal and patrol sergeant where sound judgment, leadership, tactical thinking, and intelligent decisions were required. I worked commercial enforcement, and am a current instructor for Safety Research Consultants and provide driver safety training to commercial drivers. I have been an instructor for the Orange County Sheriffs Department in the POST certified Field Training Officer course, as well as instructing Mounted Police Officers throughout the State of California in equitation and patrol tactics.
