About Jodi Brown

Jodi Brown is an emerging art therapist and seasoned arts educator dedicated to fostering healing, self-expression, and connection through creative practice. Currently pursuing an M.S. in Art Therapy with an emphasis in Counseling at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee, she is building on years of experience teaching visual arts across diverse educational and cultural settings. Jodi has held roles as a French immersion and International Baccalaureate art educator, Reggio Emilia Atelierista, and community, sequential, and school programs educator at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Her professional foundation is rooted in inclusive pedagogy, culturally responsive teaching, and the belief that art can be a transformative force for individuals across the lifespan. Her recent clinical training through JFS includes providing supervised trauma-informed art therapy in school, residential, and outpatient settings. She facilitates art as therapy groups for older adults at Trinity Woods and engages survivors through art sessions at Sojourner Family Peace Center. She also serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Mount Mary Art Therapy Department, where she has co-led open studios and coordinates integrated community wellness initiatives. Jodi brings an intuitive, relational approach to her work, blending her background in education and museum practice with a growing clinical lens focused on trauma, aging, and intergenerational healing. She is committed to creating safe, affirming spaces where individuals can explore emotions, process experience, and reconnect with their own inner resources through the creative process.
