As a dedicated professional with a passion for fostering connection and community, I bring a diverse range of experiences in volunteer management, program coordination, and cross-cultural engagement. Currently serving as Associate Director of Volunteer Management at St. John’s Lutheran Church, I lead efforts to streamline volunteer processes, cultivate a sense of belonging, and ensure that our mission to "Live God's Love in the World" is at the heart of every initiative. With a strong background in event planning, relationship building, and systems development, I have consistently worked to remove barriers to volunteering, making service accessible and rewarding for all. My work includes creating efficient data management systems, facilitating clear communication between diverse stakeholders, and empowering individuals to use their talents for the greater good. Prior to my current role, I gained extensive experience through my work with international organizations. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda, I served as a regional leader for the Stomp Out Malaria initiative, where I developed streamlined reporting systems and trained volunteers on community outreach strategies. At the Gates Institute, I contributed to the success of the International Conference on Family Planning, where I coordinated complex logistics and developed a mobile app used by over attendees. At St. John’s, I’ve expanded my expertise in direct service outreach, working closely with volunteers and individuals experiencing homelessness through programs like HART, Snack Stop, and Downtown Streets. I’ve also drawn upon my cross-cultural experiences in Madagascar and Rwanda to deepen my understanding of community engagement and relational outreach. Whether coordinating large-scale events, supporting community-building initiatives, or working one-on-one with individuals in need, I’m driven by a commitment to service and the belief that everyone has a role to play in making the world a better place.
