About Joel Harrison

I was raised in the dirt. I’m not a hippie, but my toys were bikes, shovels, and trees. I played, created and tried many things for the first 2 decades of my life – searching for something meaningful. Marketing drew me in 10 years ago because I wanted to continue creating, but my purpose didn’t start becoming clear until I was introduced to businesses that were driving positive change. I was hooked. I began consulting on impact marketing, started a social impact podcast, built community meetups, and launched ElevateHub.ca, a local media company for social impact. I was director of marketing for a startup reducing food waste and helped them craft messaging that raised $8.45 million in venture capital. As my purpose became clearer, I began waking up more energized. In parallel, I saw businesses that gained clarity and simplicity also become more energized. I learned how complexity and confusion lose customers and focusing on essentials helps you build a business people love. I also learned that clarity helps us reconnect with intention and drives us to build sh*t that matters. Now I consult and help others uncover clarity and simplicity in their messaging, and as we deepen this mindset we also begin to live with intention.
