About Joey Broda

As an engineer at FortisBC, I specialize in developing renewable gases (biomethane and hydrogen) to blend into the existing natural gas system. I have over five years of experience in operating biogas upgrading facilities, especially from landfill sources, and developingnew projects. I also have expertise in life-cycle carbon intensity calculations and integration of renewable gas sources into existing infrastructure. My mission is to expand the number of options available to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meaningfully tackle climate change. I am strongly curious about ecology and try to use the tools that I learn from nature in engineering design. I am also interested in public policy, as combating climate change is as much about policy decisions as it is about technological solutions. I am always eager to learn new skills and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve sustainable outcomes.
