About Johan Roef

I received my master's degree in engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 2011 and have a strong affinity for energy systems, ranging from thermo-mechanical applications over electrical power to renewable energy sources. Consequently, I followed courses on district heating and energy technology in buildings at the universities of Aarhus (DK) and Ghent, respectively. At the Antwerp Management School, I broadened my economic background. With the Flemish distribution system operator Infrax, I worked on R&D projects regarding smart grids and managed our participation in the Flemish living lab on electric vehicles. Furthermore, I was responsible for the construction of the ECLUSE steam network in the Antwerp harbour. In the merger of Infrax and Eandis into Fluvius, I have contributed to the development of new mobile applications for both asset data registration and work force management. In 2020, I took on the role of network development expert, executing in-depth technical analysis and strategic evaluations on hybrid energy systems (incorporating electricity and/or heat).
