Expert in the characterization of hydro-ecological gradients in aquatic communities at a range of temporal and spatial scales, using a variety of field and laboratory approaches. I also conduct paleo-limnological investigations of both hydro-ecological processes and contaminant distribution and deposition through time and space in floodplain landscapes. I use this information to address important concerns and controversies, predict future changes, and inform effective natural resource stewardship. My technical expertise includes (but is not limited to)- gamma-ray spectrometry and radiometric dating (calibration, QA, data analysis and method improvement, 210Pb dating)- diatom, algae, macrophyte, invertebrate and fish identification and population surveys - statistical analyses: PCA, CA, CCA, MDS, ANOSIM, SIMPER, regression, basic stats etc using programs such as: SPSS, CANOCO, PRIMER, Minitab, SigmaPlot-water testing: sampling, pH, conductivity, Chlorophyll (a-d), turbidity, Kd-PAR, nutrients and dissolved ions-sediment analysis; sampling, moisture, organic and carbonate content, organic (PACs/PAHs) and inorganic (Heavy Metals) contaminants-Project Management (design, organization, execution, reporting/publishing)
