About John Baigent

We all work with others to get things done … so we’re always transacting … but how well do we do that? I deal with the leadership issues, that come from having staff … o the way they communicate o the way they see situations o the way they transact o and the way, that drives you … into reactionary mode! Put simply, I clarify those issues and show businesses how to lead powerfully … so they can thrive! As American philosopher John Dewey said “a problem well put is half solved” … and for the other half … I have a set of unique frameworks that unravel the complexity at the heart of those issues. After starting my career as an accountant in the finance sector, I went on to follow a management path, spending over 17 years of my career in senior and general management roles in the primary, manufacturing, service and property sectors. During this time I developed strong leadership, organizational and people skills which allowed me to bring diverse teams together to achieve common goals. However, I realised my education had only provided a basic introduction to business. My experiences of transacting in the Construction sector (and the many transactional gaps I observed), inspired me to research, then undertake specialist study and practice in Transactional CompetenceTM (via Influential U). When I came across Influential U and Transactional CompetenceTM, I saw you couldn’t escape the impact that this education has on people’s lives. Being transactionally competent is The Business of Winning. I wanted that for my life, but I wanted to give that to others, too. So, I applied the knowledge and experience in my own businesses and looked to see how I could help others do the same. Now with over 20 years’ business consulting experience, I’ve combined my accounting background, experience as a financial advisor, and learnings from the Influential U curriculum, to create a unique skill set and a competitive advantage for my clients.
