I commenced my career in social work with Bolton Adult Services in Jamuary 1995. I worked for the community learning disability team. I specilaised in working with people who challenge services particularly people on the autistic spectrum and learning disabled people who came into contact with the criminal justice system. In 2003 I took on a specialist role working with learning disabled people who were detained in secure hospitals. I developed and managed a multi-disciplinary team (Intensive Support Team) consisting of social workers, community nurses and an occupational therapist with dedicated psychology support. The focus of the team was to work with secure hospital providers to discharge people to appropriate packages of support in Bolton
