John Bodra is a development professional with a Post Graduate degree from the Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi. He has over 15 years of experience working in the development sector. In the initial stage of his career, Mr. Bodra was associated with the Foundation for Ecological Security as a Project Officer in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He was responsible for mobilizing the community to organize village committees and take up soil and moisture conservation activities in their respective villages. He has also previously served as District Programme Manager for the USAID funded Vistaar Project, designed to provide technical assistance to frontline workers for improving the nutritional status of pregnant and lactating women in the district of Godda, Jharkhand. Mr. Bodra joined the Institute of International Education (IIE) in New Delhi in July 2009 to support the day-to-day operations of the Leadership Development for Mobilizing Reproductive Health (LDM) program in India supported by Packard Foundation, and later served as Program Coordinator for the New York University, Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) Program. He also managed the Maternal Health Young Champions Program, a fellowship program supported by the Maternal Health Task Force at Harvard School of Public Health. He also managed Verizon Foundation supported Verizon Innovative Learning Program (VILP) to increase access to STEM education among Indian girls at the secondary school level. He also supported Senior Advisor in administering the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program in India. Presently he joined the World's single largest coal company - Coal India Limited as Deputy Manager (Community Development) to manage and oversee the community development and CSR projects. Over the course of his career he has participated in, as well as organised various leadership training and workshops for program grantees. His area of expertise includes program management and implementation, training and development and community mobilization.
