About John Calcott

For the last twenty years I have mainly worked full time as a peripatetic guitar teacher within Northamptonshire, I have directed county group ensembles, run after school/Saturday centre clubs and have had a senior role at residential courses. Currently I am the Head of Music Production for Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust. This role has involved devising term length, funded projects to be provided to schools, purchasing of equipment, putting on short holiday courses for students, building a studio and rolling out the RSL music production grade syllabus. Alongside my peri work I am also a certified Steinberg trainer and have provided sessions for local schools and music hubs. I am a consultant for TiME and will have an article published in the next issue of Music Teacher Magazine. In my free time I enjoy working in bands and I’ve been lucky enough to have performed the o2 arena, Knebworth, The Corn Exchange and The Cavern plus festivals such as The Long Road and Buckle n’ Boots. I also provide session work as a guitarist for local studios and artists and offer repair/set up services on guitars. I am relocating to Somerset this summer and therefore open to finding a new position of employment.
