About John Canela

Hi there! My name is John Brian Canela, and my purpose is to inspire people to see the light within themselves and to empower them to realize their fullest potential. I currently work as a Principal Consultant, within Mandiant Threat Defense at Google, and I focus on Computer Forensics and Incident Response as a service; advising and communicating relevant findings of cyber threats to customers at Fortune companies.I was born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in New Jersey, and my family is from the Dominican Republic. I chose to pursue a career within Cyber Security because of the way technology has the ability to help and connect people. I want to ensure that those who utilize technology to improve their lives can continue to trust it. I love what I do because it allows me to utilize both my technical skills and my passion for serving others as I continue to learn and grow into better versions of myself.I've come to learn that real happiness comes when we fall in love with the process of becoming. We need to fall in love with the journey; the highs and the lows, both the wins and the learning experiences. I wake up every day looking forward to make a positive difference. I've realized that no matter what I decide to pursue in life, the reason why I do what I do; my purpose - will always stay the same.#InThisTogether #Grateful.I created the DÍMELO newsletter to share what I’m seeing, the signals, stories, and lessons that matter right now.I write for the underrepresented, the builders, and the dreamers who see the opportunities in front of them and are ready to claim them.Through DÍMELO, I reflect on the unseen work, the early signals in tech, AI, finance, entrepreneurship, and identity, and why playing the long game matters more than chasing quick wins.If this resonates with you, subscribe to DÍMELO, and I'll share what I'm feeling, straight up!https://ayo.dimelo.app
