About John Cleave

I have designed and codeveloped well over 300 released learning environments that have helped tens of thousands of learners, collectively, improve performance in areas such as customer service, sales, coaching, leadership, finance, data analysis, and safety. I've worked with a wide variety of subject matter experts and training professionals to develop competency models and to measure learning gains against them. I have explored the use of technology to make people smarter from many different angles. I've served in just about every capacity on a project: instructional designer, technical evangelist, project lead, content developer, storyboard artist, multimedia producer, course evaluator, and coder. I've worked with a wide variety of tools, platforms, and learning management systems.I'm expert at working with organizations to figure out what they want people to do differently and the best way to nudge them into doing it. Which can be tricky. It's not always clear what people are doing right and wrong, or why, or the best to get learners to understand and embrace change. Over the years, I've developed numerous methods to overcome these challenges, including using data to determine who needs to learn what and whether a learning strategy is having its intended impact.
