About John de Palma

I graduated from Shorecrest High School in North Seattle in 1987 and received a B.S. degree in Human Biology with an Athletic Training minor from Eastern Washington University in 1991. I then underwent two years of professional Physical Therapy education in in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington. I have since worked as a Physical Therapist in outpatient orthopedic and sports clinical settings in addition to Skilled Rehabilitation. As an athlete, I was a member of the United States Canoe and Kayak National Marathon Team from until 2012, and represented the U.S. seven times at the International Canoe Federation World Championships. In 2011, fellow paddler Luke Potts and I co-founded an ecumenical Christian sports fellowship organization called “Paddlers for Christ”, and in 2012 I entered the the Jesuit Novitiate, where I underwent two years of formation in religious life. I am currently an Adjunct Faculty member and Undergraduate Internship Coordinator at Seattle University in the Center for the Study of Sport and Exercise. I enjoy utilizing my passion, skill, and experience as a both a Physical Therapist and competitive athlete in order to contribute to the growing awareness and appreciation for the theory and practice of human wellness, fitness, and performance.
