If you and your organization have never sponsored a blood drive, consider that patients in local hospitals use about units of blood every day, and that these patients rely heavily on the participation and leadership of sponsors in our community. While our donor centers meet about half of the demand, we rely on businesses and organizations to host blood drives to support the other half of the community’s need. Whether you are involved in a business, church, school or community organization, your efforts can help save lives in your community simply by hosting a blood drive. Inova Blood Donor Services supplies lifesaving blood and blood products to 24 different hospitals in Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC, metro area. We also work with national and international redistribution organizations to get blood where it's needed most. Remember, there is no substitute for blood. Organizing a blood drive is both easy and rewarding.
