Hi, my name is John. I am a Reiki practitioner, artist, aspiring author and teacher. If you were to ask me two years ago that I would write those things about myself today, I would have looked at you sideways and said, “Rei-what?”. Followed by a sarcastic, “Yeah. okay.”. But here I am. I have always been tolerant of different religious views, sexualities and genders. However, I carried feelings of shame and deep self-hatred for being different throughout most of my life. Through journaling, art and mindfulness, I learned to love and accept myself for who I am. It’s terrifying to share who you are in your everyday life, let alone to love and accept yourself for who you are. I’m here to encourage you on your journey, and to help you come to a place of love and self-acceptance. There is tremendous freedom in being who you are without shame.
