About Johnette Burdette

Johnette has led project teams to design, develop, implement, and monitor effective continuous improvement efforts in Illinois, New York, Virginia, Indiana, Texas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Burdette supports the Concerns Based Adoption Model work as a trainer, Levels of Use interviewer, and program and project manager. CBAM is a set of research-based tools that help organizations and individuals, understand, facilitate, and manage the implementation of initiatives. Burdette has supported comprehensive needs assessments and Continterpertations as a lead facilitator, she guides the innovative approach to multivariate data collection and collaborative interpretation to help districts and schools in corrective action and the use of data to develop concrete actions plans for improvement. Previously, Burdette was the executive director for a national educational consulting firm specializing in school turnaround. She specializes, in policy and procedure, building and sustaining relationships, climate and culture, leadership development, best practices, data analysis, and cohesive teaming, and competency-based leadership practices. Burdette is currently completing a research study on turnaround leadership competencies for the completion of her Doctoral Degree. A former turnaround principal, she has experience in elementary, middle, and high schools across the state of Virginia in rural, suburban, and urban schools, with a specialization in supporting systemic improvement in rural education.
