About Jon Albert

Jon was inspired to establish JAJF by his wife Jill's battle with breast cancer and her fear their children would forget her. Jill died two weeks after the Foundation’s launch just before Thanksgiving 2006. She left behind 13 year old Jake and 11 year old Jamie. Featured as the cover story on CBS Sunday Morning, twice by The TODAY Show, by Sanjay Gupta and on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, JAJF is a national 501(c)(3) that treats families facing the imminent loss of their young Mom or Dad to WOW! Experiences….a timeout together as a family away from their late stage cancer to create cherished, lasting memories…while they can. Oncologists "prescribe" JAJF as part of the treatment protocol for the patient, the spouse and their children…the family together. Oncologists validate the medicinal impact and the power of laughter and smiles-of positive, fun family time together. Those investing in JAJF appreciate these children and these families together deserve to call timeout from the hardship and miserable anticipation of losing their Mom or Dad.There is no other organization like JAJF in the country-addressing an overlooked, underserved population. Despite advances in cancer research, too many young Moms and Dads are not being saved by the hope for a cure and are leaving behind their children. As the only organization of its kind, JAJF needs to be sustained.
