About Jon Goodwin

I possess a strong work ethic and I am proud of the work I achieve being results driven. I have a great deal of experience in Adult Social Care with over forty years of experience, thirty two of which as a qualified Social Worker. I have a 'can-do' attitude to everything I do in life and take pride in the quality of my work and the difference it can make to people's lives. I started my career in Social Care with Leonard Cheshire Disability way back in the early 1980's (although I was only 18 at the time!) and this experience, working for one of the largest disability charities in the UK and world, gave me a great platform of standards and principles of promoting independence, innovative outcomes and wellbeing from which to pursue and develop my career. 2023 marks my 26 years working in leadership and management positions both within the local authority, as well as the NHS, and I would describe my leadership style as 'motivational and influencial', whilst steering a strong path on performance and excellent outcomes for the people we serve. My current role as Principal Social Worker is leading on building a robust quality assurance framework in readiness for CQC assessment and LGA Peer Challenge Review. Other transformation work includes shaping and developing the front door of adult social care with innovative approaches to prevent, reduce and delay the need for long term adult social care. In addition to this I have been supporting the modernisation and development of community hubs and how we develop communities of interest to support and encourage strength based principles in local community groups and across PCN's. I hold a Masters Degree in Leadership and Management (MSc) and I am a UK Registered Professional Social Worker (1988-1991) as well as a qualified Practice Teacher.
