About Jonas M. Helseth

Currently working with climate & environmental NGO The Bellona Foundation as Executive Director EU. Bellona Europa concentrates its efforts mainly on a solution-oriented approach to decarbonisation of heavy industry sectors and other key sectors of the economy. Bellona is an active member in various EU Technology & Innovation Platforms that bring together scientists, industry & civil society from across Europe to give research and policy advice and recommendations to the European Commission. Member of the CEO roundtable of the EU Clean Hydrogen Alliance Vice Chair of the EU Technology Platform for CCS (Zero Emissions Platform, ZEP) Steering Committee member of the European Biofuels Technology Platform (EBTP) & co-chair of the Joint Taskforce (JTF) on Bio-CCS/CDR of the two Platforms. Former professional experience includes working within the policy fields of Transport, Telecommunications, Energy and Environment at the Norwegian Mission to the EU. Educational background: Master's degree in EU-Russia relations from the Baltic Sea Region Studies programme (joint degree from the University of Turku/Åbo, Finland & the University of Riga, Latvia) and a Bachelor's degree in European studies and languages from NTNU Trondheim (exchanges in Freiburg & Kiel, Germany and St. Petersburg, Russia). Linguistic skills: Fluent oral and written command of Scandinavian (Norwegian mother tongue), English, German and Dutch, in addition to French & Russian at an intermediate level.
