About Jonas Stoll

I’m a Mechatronics Engineer with a PhD and a passion for innovation in clean energy and electrochemical systems. My career spans advanced fuel cell development at Mercedes-Benz, academic research at SFU’s fuel cell lab, and 19 co-authored patents — all focused on turning complex R&D into scalable, real-world solutions. With dual German-Canadian citizenship, I bring an international perspective and have worked at the intersection of industry and academia across North America and Europe. My doctoral research focused on optimizing roll-to-roll manufacturing for catalyst layers, where I designed and built custom coating systems from the ground up. I’m a licensed P.Eng. in British Columbia and currently preparing to serve as a Reserve Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces — a role that reflects my commitment to leadership, structure, and public service.
