About Jonathan Frye
Over the past decade, I have worked on over 300 game titles. I am responsible for all of the experimental design for Immersyve Games. I am a driver of the hypothesis generation, survey design, and data analysis on every game project, as well as being the lead writer on many reports. I have experience with concept testing, marketing studies, ethnographic studies, persona/archetype studies, longitudinal/diary studies, lifecycle/deep dive studies, and more. Building on the leading psychological theory of motivation, Self-Determination Theory, we research and apply motivational frameworks that are proven to increase engagement, increase satisfaction, and improve well-being. In thousands of studies world-wide, Self-Determination Theory has been successfully applied to Healthcare, Finance, Education, Parenting, Video Games and more. In the Video Game space, we work to apply the Player Experience of Need Satisfaction (PENS) framework to consultation and custom research projects to develop actionable solutions to increase player engagement and need satisfaction. From concept through live services and even marketing, the PENS framework is a proven and validated model.
