About Jonathan Oliver

I am a nonprofit leader and founder committed to building systems where survival is seen as worthy, not sanitized. With a PhD, an MDiv, and an MSW, I bring a rare blend of academic rigor, theological grounding, and social work practice to the intersections of health, justice, and community care. My work centers those who are too often overlooked—people living with serious mental illness, navigating housing instability, or carrying trauma that public systems were never designed to hold. I care about how we design support that doesn’t erase people’s complexity, and how we lead with clarity and integrity in places where trust has been broken. I work with faith communities not because they’ve always shown up well, but because they still can. I believe they have a meaningful role to play in public health and resilience—if that role is approached with humility, honesty, and a willingness to evolve. My work is about reimagining how faith can serve, respond, and repair in ways that are practical, accountable, and aligned with the realities of those we’ve too often failed to reach. And where faith communities don’t show up, I’m building a platform for interfaith spiritual care and community. One that rejects toxic positivity, centers lived experience, and creates space for sacred exploration beyond the bounds of tradition, trauma, or exclusion. My approach is trauma-informed, spiritually grounded, and shaped by lived realities as much as by data and design. I focus on outcomes that last, systems that work, and strategies that meet the urgency of this moment.
