About Jonathan Sharp

With over ten years of experience in roads engineering, I am a passionate and dedicated professional who has gained very good experience in roads maintenance and the management of the roads network in Aberdeenshire. As a Principal Roads Engineer at Aberdeenshire Council, I lead a team of engineers, technicians and inspectors who are responsible for the management of the roads network, ensuring compliance with roads legislation. I provide technical advice and support to other departments and stakeholders. I am committed to delivering high-quality and sustainable roads solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the communities and users, and that align with the Council's vision and values. I enjoy working with a diverse and collaborative team, and I am always eager to learn new skills and technologies. I have a BEng in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from the University of Edinburgh, and I have developed skills in road design, drainage design, project management, stakeholder engagement, and streetscape. I have also gained Incorporated Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers and will next year become a volunteer CPD auditor for the ICE.
