Background
About Joost Smies
Welcome! I'm Joost Smies, a senior talent strategist with 8+ years of experience supporting Fortune 500 companies in building high-performing teams. I believe in the power of meaningful connections and thrive on aligning people, purpose, and performance. My Story:My journey began early. At 18, I was managing a Domino’s Pizza team, where I discovered my passion for leadership and people development. Since then, I’ve grown into a trusted recruitment partner for global organisations, helping them scale with precision, empathy, and strategic insight.Expertise:I specialise in recruitment strategy, stakeholder engagement, and employer branding. My strength lies in translating business needs into talent solutions, ensuring both candidate experience and organisational impact. I’m now expanding into broader HR roles, including HR Business Partner and operational HR, where I can contribute to workforce planning, employee engagement, and organisational development.Community:Outside of work, I volunteer as a driver for De Voedselbank, delivering essential resources to families in need. This role keeps me grounded and reminds me daily of the importance of empathy, reliability, and community.Let’s Connect:Whether you're exploring talent strategy, HR transformation, or simply want to exchange ideas, I’d love to connect. Reach me at +316 244 66 366 or joostsmies@gmail.com. Let’s grab a virtual coffee and talk people, purpose, and possibilities.
