About Jose Luis Cuevas

IT professional with broad experience in service desk management, focused on support to scientific research and educational projects. My experience in IT initially comes from the application of Geographic Information Systems to the management of natural resources and risks. Subsequently, I expanded my professional career by participating in a number of IT projects that involved a broad range of technologies and organizational methodologies. Though I was initially educated as a Geologist, the inherent values common to all natural sciences, such as rigour, objectivity, ethics, creativity and continuous learning have always been an invaluable guidance in my IT career. And, although my free time is certainly limited, I partially devote it to actively participating in high level Geology research projects. Outcomes of my collaborations have been published in international publications. Fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan. Specialties: IT Governance, ISO ITIL, COBIT, Service Desk, Service Catalogue, Unix Systems administration, GIS, Open Source software, team building, productivity methodologies (I am a firm supporter of David Allen's GTD!)
