About Jose Sigala

I am currently going through a career change and plan to join the IT Field after self-learning different programming languages and gaining certifications. Computer Science felt out of reach for me when I was younger but I feel if I put my mind to it, I can achieve and gain the skills required to make a career in this field. Thank you for reading my "About Section". I have had experience in multiple different fields and I am always motivated to expand my skills and expertise. I currently work at an HR company that handles the Human Resource services for mutliple businesses across the state of California and also out of state. My position entails conducting New Job Orientations, Filling out New Injuries, and conducting disciplinary actions and investigations requested by our clients. Job requires lots of communication skills, bilingual speaking (mainly for our majority of employees we speak with), time management, writing, and basic California Laws regarding employee rights. I previously worked as a Juvenile Correctional Officer. That position entailed working with violent offenders in a closed enviornment and maintaing their well being by making sure they are provided with basic necessities according to Title 15 of the California Code of Regulations. Job entails maitnaing a group of juvenile delinquents through the everyday paces of the facility schedules, conducting disciplinary actions, writing behavioral reports, conducting educational programming with the youth, and maintaining the safety and security of all the youth in the facility. Job entailed lots of patience, requiring excellent communication skills, physical and mental endurance, and report writing knowledge. I have also worked at both Jimmy Johns and McDonalds in the past, both places being fast food locations that required one to have excellent customer service, communication skills, food handlers safety knowledge, and basic math skills. When it comes to education, I carry a Bachelor's Degree from Fresno State University in Criminology. While taking the prerequisite classes for Criminology, I also took courses in Communication Skills, Environment Science, Sociololgy, Psychology and Law.
