About Joseph Chamoun

I am a writer/editor and seasoned communications professional with more than 20 years of experience providing high-quality communications products and services, as well as strategic advice and recommendations, in support of cabinet ministers, senior management, and internal and external partners. Having worked for Government of Canada departments responsible for foreign affairs and international trade, national and cyber security, and immigration for most of my career, I have a deep understanding of, and passion for, international issues. In addition, my experience has helped me develop a strategic mind, a strong ability to identify and flag inaccurate or potentially damaging material, and a very keen eye for detail and nuance while grasping the big picture. I have also gained management and leadership experience over the course of my career, most notably as the acting manager of a team responsible for the planning and logistics of ministerial events. Fluently bilingual in English and French, and proficient in spoken Arabic, I have a proven ability to write in clear, concise and accurate language for internal, domestic and international audiences, in both official languages. I continue to demonstrate a willingness and flexibility to jump into any project or role and get the job done. Calm under pressure, approachable and easygoing, I always strive to create genuine connections with co-workers and actively contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
