About Joseph Koo

With over 6 years of work experience in various roles related to education, human resources, and mobile game testing, I have developed a diverse skill set and a passion for learning and innovation. My core competencies include data analysis, cloud application development, communication, and attention to detail. As an HR Recruiter/Staff Trainer at Borderlink, Inc, I aim to improve the quality and efficiency of the company's HR processes and policies, as well as design and deliver comprehensive onboarding and training programs for new employees. I value the company's mission of providing meaningful and rewarding experiences for teachers and students in Japan, and I bring a unique perspective and experience as a former Assistant Language Teacher and a fluent speaker of Japanese. In my current role, I leverage my Google Data Analytics Certificate and my IBM Cloud Application Development Foundations Specialization to optimize the HR workflows and systems, as well as to create engaging and interactive training materials and platforms. I have been recognized by the Borderlink Co. CEO and awarded Best HR in October 2023 for my outstanding performance and contributions. I manage specific teaching areas with 60+ teachers, overseeing HR processes and policies, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement. I have improved the feedback of ALTs from schools from 84% to a projected 90% positive feedback by conducting regular classroom observations, providing constructive feedback, and resolving employee and client complaints, harassment claims, and policy violations. I also contribute to the company's culture and growth by actively participating in recruitment, selection, and onboarding activities, as well as facilitating employee engagement and retention initiatives.
