Joseph Roberts is an accomplished music and media professional with over 30 years' experience. He is a Composer, Choir Director, Conductor, Arranger, Sound designer, Musician and Tutor and is dedicated to expanding his skills and knowledge to elevate the contributions he makes within the industry. Examples of his recent accomplishments include Music director for Falstaff (Henry IV part II) at Shakespeare’s Globe; One of eight Conductors for Proms 66 “In the Name of the Earth”at The Royal Albert Hall; Choral Arranger on BBC TV drama ‘The Long Song’ adapted from the book by the late Andrea Levy; Composer for Dr Faustus at Shakespeare’s Globe; Music Director and Choral Arranger for ‘KING’ The Concert Musical at Hackney Empire; Bassist for Titus Andronicus - RSC Rome season at Barbican; Composer and Music Director for SOUL at Royal & Derngate Composer & Sound Designer for The Honeyman UK tour. Joseph has a wide range of experience across many genres of music. He is co-founder of the celebrated East London Gospel Choir and has worked with various record labels such as A&M, Decca, 1st Avenue, Mute, Universal London, 13 Amp, and Circus Records. Joseph has also toured, recorded and performed with Sting, Moby, Eric Clapton, Luciano Pavarotti, Sir Elton John, David Holmes & The Free Association, Alison Hinds, Dr Meaker, Corinne Bailey Rae, Maxi Priest, Violetta Curry, Lily Allen, Eternal, The stiX (Mark Hill), Gareth Gates, Ty, and Marcella Detroit to name but a few. Joseph works in theatre, commercial music and music education whilst still carrying out commercial engagements. Joseph studied composition with Dr Michael Waite, choral music with Arthur Robson, and improvisation with Dr Rod Paton at University of Chichester.
