About Josh Kim

The best creative content comes from true, authentic connections with those around you. A visual identity, especially in sports, is crucial. But you only get there through the relationships you build with athletes, fans and other creatives alike. As the team photographer for the PWHL's Ottawa Charge, meaningful connections with athletes remain at the forefront of my work. Contributing directly to the visual branding and identity of one of the PWHL's inaugural teams has allowed me to continue to shape the future of the sport, amplifying the countless players who are pushing the boundaries of hockey. While photography is just one medium working to complete a bigger picture (no pun intended), my focus remains at creating content that brings people together, emphasizing athlete-driven stories and moments that go beyond what you see in the box score. On a deeper level, the people I've met across my creative journey continue to inspire me. From my days with Toronto Metropolitan University's athletic department, to the OHL's Barrie Colts, to the content teams at both TSN and Sportsnet, I've realized that the key in leaving a lasting legacy is people. I find that those that support out-of-the-box thinking and elaborate creative ideas (both big and small) are truly what motivates me to continue pushing the creative boundaries. My role with the NHL runs in conjunction with the Ottawa Charge as I continue to contribute live digital content for one of the biggest sports leagues in the world.
